GM fuel pump modules
After my recent problem with my fuel pump I’m considering using a readily available GM unit. I know there are several members using them. My question is: has anyone found a GM fuel pump module (pump and sender) that requires little to no modification to work? IE correct size for the fuel tank opening, correct pressure, flow, etc. I’m not worried about fuel sender accuracy.

When my DMCH all-in-one pump stopped putting out enough pressure last summer, I installed this one:
Spectra Premium SP6170M Fuel Pump Module for Chevrolet/GMC https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000IYQJUS..._3c2SCbDDESEHD
It did need to have the black fuel pressure sensor on the top removed (pops off) and plugged with a bolt, and I filed down the tabs around where that sensor was. I also had to trim the plastic tab off the side of the pump. I am using Hervey’s fuel sender now, as the float was reversed on this one.

Good stuff, thank you. FYI I did a little digging and found out that SP6149M is the same pump minus the pressure sensor.

Nice find. From the photos in the listing below, it still looks like you would need to file away the plastic tabs where the sensor would have been, if you want the infill panel to seat over it.

Yes I did notice that. Too bad, I was hoping the tabs wouldn’t be there. I’m leaning towards a Delphi unit, FG0089. Advance Auto has them. I really like the idea of picking one up locally for warranty purposes.

It looks like that is only rated for 62 psi though.
