Using a delorean as a daily driver, my biggest problems were the cooling fans and alternator belts. I'd get stuck in traffic and the fans wouldn't come on or belts just kept breaking.

Then all the other problems of parts finally giving out after 35 years, granted those weren't bad. But seriously, the alternator belts and cooling fans are a massive weak point compared to kjet.

What alternator/pulley combo were you running?

asking which fans/alternator I was using really highlights how much of a problem they are lol. I never had to modify kjet to get the car running as intended is my point.

The parts car in question brought 5 figures. When I was looling a decade ago I was looking at running driving DeLoreans in the mid teens(one was 14k).

This puts the value of my car in the 40k range easy.

If I sold the DMC it would be to raise funds (or eliminate financial liability, mine is financed still) to fund my amateur racing team.

I've only had the car for 17 months, I'm not tired of it yet. I paid $38.5k, sunk $8k into repairs and improvements. I doubt I'll sell until I get get upwards of $60k for it. I also doubt I would buy a second DMC. I bought the exact one I wanted, nowhere to go from here. And there are a ton of other cars I've admired that I haven't gotten to experience yet.

You might be conservative at that number considering the condition of your car. Here are the most up to date valuations from Hagerty.

Here's a bit longer history from a snapshot I took a couple years ago.
