How to you respond: "Does it have a flux capacitor?"

When you show your car to someone (car show, etc) and they think for a moment and say:
"Does it have one of those things.... (*pause*)..... a FLUX CAPACITOR!?!?"

Me: Yes it has the time travel telemetry package.... but it's only available if you also order the premium leather seats. Thankfully this one's loaded.
Them: Can I take a picture?

    What's your go-to answer?

It's funny you say that. I was looking at purchasing one of these to keep around.

I have the (larger) miniature FC from ThinkGeek in the package in my glove box. When I get the question, I say, “Of course”, and while getting it out, I continue “... but these days it’s miniaturized. You simply plug it in your cigarette lighter and it fluxes, but it also charges your iPhone”.

Invariably, the person cracks up and sometimes asks where they can get one.

Yesterday, while at a Memorial Day show, people asked if Marty (or Doc) gave me (or drove) the car. I said “No, but they signed it.” (while flipping down my recently autographed visor). Minds.. blown, and then smiles.

I try to keep it light hearted and have fun with the fans (unless they are jerks). I remember that I’m driving an 80’s Icon and I’m representing the marque.

"Yeah it's right there. Just flip the switch to turn it on, but make sure your arms and legs are inside the vehicle or it'll get real messy."

After 2 years of ownership I'm still surprised how many people as but don't know what the flux capacitor actually looks like.
