I'm looking for options below $25k. "Project cars" are perfectly acceptable if the price is right. Please let me know what you have, the condition, etc. Feel free to PM me. I live in Northern Virginia and don't mind traveling across the East Coast or Mid-West to check out some options. Thanks!

It's only 1k more than I'd like to spend, I think I can work with that. Is the car close to Virginia, or atleast on the east coast?

I would like to know more and am willing to visit your friend if he's relatively close to Virginia. I do apologize if I've broken the rules, again I am very new to the forum. Please let me know how to fix the thread so we can continue the conversation. Should I delete the thread and change the title to <$30k? Just let me know and I'll be happy to oblige.

Indeed! Should I assume it's part of a hazing ritual for newbies? Or perhaps he's just being sarcastic. It's my favorite style of humor as well, but unfortunately it's tough to detect in text format.

LOL...indeed, Welcome! Seriously though it's just my douchy way of saying not to pin yourself in on a price. I ended up spending 10k more than I budgeted because I found a great car. Also it might be a little hard to find your car for 25k, 10 years ago the 25k rule was front and center and prices have gone up since, however it's not completely out of the realm to find a decent car both cosmetically and mechanically (not perfect but decent) for 25k (ish). Basically keep your options open, because when one of those unicorn deals does happen to pop up, it doesn't last long. The last time a decent priced runner came up for sale most were asking questions and wanting pictures while the real buyer nutted up and pulled the trigger leaving the timid lukewarm buyers saying "WTH just happened?"

Anyway again welcome and hope you find what you want soon!

PS: if you do have the extra funds avaliable, 30 to 35k seems to be the new "norm" for a (as James put it) good lookin, good driving DeLorean.
