Trying to remove tie rod end

I am attempting to replace the tie rod end on the drivers side. It seems like it is resting up against a nut. It almost seems like it is tacked to it. Is this normal, and what is the best way to get this off without damaging the rod? Heat?

The tie rod end should be up against a nut.

Each of the rod ends is locked in position on the tie rod threads by the hex nut that's jammed against it. Use a 19mm wrench to loosen the nut with the old tie rod end held a good vise. Some penetrating oil may help.

It isn't normal to tack the nut to the tie rod end nor to use thread locker on it.

If you don't have a vice, put the tie rod end back on the car and crack the jamb nut loose with a large adjustable wrench. If the jamb nut is chewed up/being replaced, use a pipe wrench....
    Avoid heat if you can.
