    Auto trans vs stick

I'm sure someone here knows this off the top of their head.
How many manual trans vs. auto trans Deloreans were made?
Is there a resale price difference?

The mighty auto is by far the best of the two and commands more money.

I'm glad someone brought subject this up... finally.

It started as a 50/50 mix until 5-speeds were better sellers. Then production changed accordingly. The last update to the production stats that I found lazily googling is here.

Autos in the past always brought lower prices, but due to the tragic plague of people with paralyzed left legs in this country, their values have increased.*

(*I assume there is a widespread medical malady as yet identified by the CDC since people who spent years playing video games should obviously have hand/eye coordination enough to operate a lever and a pedal.)

Of the roughly 9,000 cars built, approximately 2,700 were equipped with automatic transmissions. Hagerty’s evaluation tool assigns the auto a value of 5% less than a manual.

It's when you don't have to manually load it into the FAX machine.

CFI is right. I have always heard about 30% were automatic, and it seems like most people still look for sticks when shopping for one. However, condition is most important above all else, and it seems resale price of an auto vs. stick is not really any different. I have had this long conversation with Mike at MW when I was shopping for my car. What it boils down to is that there are more buyers looking for sticks than autos much like when they were new. I wanted a stick when I was looking and found an automatic I really wanted because I just liked the car (Ryan S's former on here). However, another buyer beat me to it, so I went with a 5 speed from DMC MW instead.
