    Strange sound when starting up.

Any ideas what this honk sound is? I hear it occasionally on cold starts.
    Thanks

Make sure the compressor is not engaged so you can rule that out.

I'm hearing a knocking noise and/or grinding. Possibly starter gear not disengaging or a bolt backed out of flywheel barely hitting engine block.

If it's repeatable, you can try unplugging the idle ECU and or the FV and see if it stops. Do you step on the gas to start it? Does it do it with a cold and hot engine?

+2 all day long. bad tooth on starter so it bangs flywheel then grinds. Just my opinion.
