Wrapping headers

I had the alternator wires touch against the hot headers resulting in some melting and subsequently, a short. I corrected the wiring and then I wrapped the wiring instead of the headers. I am less concerned with the heat in the engine bay, and more interested in prolonging the life of the headers. Apparently wrapping them, does lower the life expectancy.

I bought some wire loom heat wrap just for the wiring in that area. I haven't put it on yet but it is on my long winter refresh list.

Besides the alternator wires you must watch out for the wires to the starter and the single wire running to the oil pressure sender on the left side.
