    My dream car, VIN 03676!!!

After 30 years of dreaming of owning one of these beautiful, rolling pieces of art, I finally can say that I'm "Living the Dream"! It is VIN 03676, Sept. '81 build. The previous owner swapped the K-Jet system/intake for a Peugeot 604 2bbl intake and a Motorcraft 2bbl 1.21 carb. I only drove it around the parking lot at DMC Midwest, but I fell in love the moment I laid my eyes on it. It obviously needs some interior love, the stainless needs some dents repaired and a re-grain, bumpers need a re-paint, louvers need a scuff/repaint, etc, but it's a running/driving project that I can cruise around as I piece it back to my idea of perfection! It's currently at DMC Midwest getting a few things done (e-brake fixed, steering bushing installed, putting on a mint flat hood to replace the dented up grooved hood, and an AC leak test. After that, it's getting shipped up to me in Superior WI.

Also, I need to give a huge shout-out to my good friend Nick Pelant for showing me the amazing collection of DeLoreans he and his father has last fall and reigniting the spark I had for these cars. If it wasn't for him, I probably would still have the DeLorean love hidden away in the back of my mind. This happened because of you, so thank you Nick, from the bottom of my heart. I'll always be greatful for everything you've done, and for your amazing friendship.

If so then it's the car that was supposedly restored on the "Lost in Transmission" TV show. Actually I think the show just swapped another car in it's place and passed it off as restored. There was something about it that didn't add up and if memory serves they had 2 cars (although one incomplete) when they were done and somewhere along the way vin 1269 was the end result.

Thanks for all of the love everyone! I got the car delivered by DMC Midwest last Saturday and I've been tinkering ever since. Since it's arrival, I replaced all of the door lights with LED's and put some tinfoil in the light buckets to spread the light out (they're almost TOO bright), bought a set of used re-upholstered covers for the seats from another DMC owner and recovered the pass side lower dash pad. Neither the seats or the dash pad vinyl really matches the original grey, but it looks much better than sun baked and cracked pieces. I think I'm just going to get everything in good working order and just drive it this year...learn the car, if you will. Next winter the car will be stored and that's when the interior will really go under the knife. It will be going back to the original black interior that the VIN calls out for. A few custom touches here and there, but black.
Anyway, here's a few pictures I have taken since the delivery.

    Brodie,

You failed to mention you work at an upholstery shop. ;-) Tackling that interior redo should be pretty comfortable for you. Btw, do know why the Driver door window was removed? Bad regulator or something else?

I thought I had told you that I work for the company that does the interiors for Cirrus (SCS Interiors)?
Anyway, the window was not removed. I was told it will not move back up. I'm guessing the window motor is burned up. Those aren't cheap either...but I'm gonna try to find a good used one if I can.
