    Qustions about shipping a Delorean

I wasn't sure if this belongs here, in product reviews, or General Delorean, but whatever.
I'll be moving from GA to CA (2,500 mile straight shot on I-10) in a few weeks; Of course, the Delorean will be coming along.
I'm debating attempt to stuff it in my trailer (24' enclosed), but I don't think there will be enough space for it after I finish packing my stuff in it.

I've gotten a whole mess of quotes online and on the phone, but I'd like the opinion of people who've shipped their cars.

If you've shipped your car (vendors included), please tell me:
    - who you shipped it with,
    - from where to where,
    - covered or open transport,
    - how much it cost
    - and your opinion of the carrier

    Thanks

Renee did a similar move last year(Cumming to Cali). You might give her a pm if she doesn't chime in.
eBay selling at it's best I can tell you stock Delorians and quite a bit of slugs so the Turbo is a super nice up-grade.

I've been extremely impressed anytime we've dealt with Passport (www.passporttransport.com). No affiliation, I just like a good company when I find one. They will give you a quote online. Far from the cheapest but if you want it to get there with minimal issues they are great.

Dave reports this is the same company that was FedEx Passport that I use back in 2008. FedEx sold the company off. I used them when it was FedEx, shipped ~2,000 miles from Las Vegas to York, PA, covered transport & was around $2K back then. Would definitely use them again...good communication & customer service & no issues with the shipment.

    +1

I used them from Scottsdale, AZ to DMCNW in WA. About $1,800, but they are real pros that go over the car on pick up and delivery.

They also call you and keep in contact. The driver even rearranged his route to accommodate pick-up!

On top of that you can track your vehicle/truck location via GPS.

Costly yes, but i slept well for the weeks it was en route.

Thanks for all the tips everybody. I believe I've found the company for me. I'll post details for the record after the move is complete. (I'm still waiting on hard-copy orders before I book it)
