I really dig the fresh zinc look but it doesn't last long out in the elements. On a Vanagon Syncro restoration I recently completed we zinc plated all of the suspension and subframe for the AWD components and then had them powdercoated in clear. The rig sees a lot of off road travel and 20,000 miles later all of this stuff still looks like new and is easy to clean off.
