Does anyone have mechanical drawings of the bare drive shaft without CV joints? If can come up with a CAD model I can probably have one made.

You'd rather go through all that trouble than buy a used drive shaft?

It's more fun that way.

I don't have good enough equipment to make a drive shaft, but on occasion I can get a part or two DMLS printed for free.

Ah, I see. Well if all else fails just drop me a PM, mine is just collecting dust in the garage.

More than likely it is a combination of wear in the hub AND the shaft splines. You may have to replace both the hubs AND the half shafts.

The only way to know for sure how good the hubs are is to fit a new half shaft into the hub's splines and see if there is any looseness. In fact, the half shafts could be OK and the bubs are worn.
