Michael do you have any photos you can share of the car with side moldings removed? I'm guessing they left the side markers in place, correct?

Here is a picture from a DeLorean owner in NJ. His car was painted when he purchased it and he decided to strip the paint away. It was painted in black and brown and the rubstrips were never put back on after being painted. He decided to keep the rubstrips off.

Thanks so much for posting the pics.

Damn.... it does look nice and clean without the rubstrips..... and the side marker lights still work with the rubstrips removed off of them.
I was worried they wouldn't mount properly without their rubstrip mouldings..... but apparently not the case at all.

Looks like I have a nice small project to do during this Quarantine time ; )

p/s wondering how the black door handle would look polished or satin steel colored. That would be an additional nice touch to not direct the eye at it with all the rubstrips removed.

Here's a link to a shot of one of Wolfgang's DeLoreans from his Team Deloman venture in Germany - no rub strips:

Also, a link to one of his other cars, again without strips on it:

    Correction.

The car was painted black and gold. I wasn't able to edit my previous post.

I agree that the car does look nice without the rubstrips on them.

    Thanks Nick

I'm totally sold on removing the rubstrips now.

Looks amazingly clean in those photos.

Just have to be careful to avoid any dings when parking the car....won't have any protection.

    Thanks for sharing Patrick

    Awesome pic.

Hopefully this can turn into a photo thread for others to get an idea of what the mod looks like.

Older picture, but mine hasnt had any since I stripped the car. I've thought about getting wings a loft and doing shaved door handles to clean up the look.
