Thread: Body mouldings/rubstrips Removal--- Thoughts?

    As simple as the rubstrips removal is..... it takes a bit of elbow grease to get out the adhesive tape that remains behind. I ended up using a combo of Brake Clean + Goo Gone to get everything off.

    Unfortunately you can see where the rubstrips were located on the body.... so the panels will definitely require a slight regrain.

    So not for the faint at heart, lol ; )

    Be careful with Goo Gone. At least one of their products is listed as not safe for stainless steel.

    Never heard about Goo Gone not being good to use on SS...... I just went on their website and according to the label.... it says not to be used on (faux) stainless steel..... fake SS ?

    The car just looks weirder without the rub strips. Not a fan but every man/woman to their own i guess.

    Now you must practice "social distancing" with the car by parking far away from any other car so you don't get dinged! IMHO I think it accents the belt line of the car and ties in the side marker lights.

    Goo Gone Automotive specifically says not to use on stainless steel.
