    Thanks chaps, I will have a go bashing it out, not worried about the cosmetics as long as it clears the CV joint and doesn't foul the mating services I am happy. If any doubt I will pick up another.

    As for the CVs any 930 style 28 spline will work. I would stay away from the cheap empis tho. They are made with intentionally loose tolerances to promote high angles. In a road going vehicle this leads to excessive wear very quickly.
