    Cross Gate Cable Routing

I'm 99% complete with my auto to manual conversion for #2203. However I cannot figure out how to route the crossgate cable correctly. I know it's critical to drill the hole for the cable in the correct place for the shifter. I'm fairly sure I did that part well. However, I can't find any info on how it routes through the frame and where it is intended to exit the frame on the transmission side.

I have it installed and hooked up to the transmission and the shifter, but it's completely bound up. The cable appears to do an S shape inside the frame. It was incredibly difficult to install, it almost seemed like the cable was too long for the inside of the frame.

Am I doing something wrong here?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Your pics look like mine.

Not sure what's going on behind there though.

Thanks for the photo! Definitely helps me narrow down the cause of my issue.

I'm wondering if anyone out there has replaced their crossgate and what their experience was.

No worries, if you want anything else let me know, my Chassis is away getting fixed/dipped so I have everything out in the shed.

Here are a couple pictures of the cross gate cable and other linkages attached to the gearbox:

Thanks for the photos! I believe my crossgate cable holder on the transmission is bent out of shape. I'm going to order a replacement and give it a try. Thankfully it's fairly cheap.

I'll report back with my findings!

You are welcome. Interestingly, the original owner of my car lived in Georgia and went to Georgia Tech. There was a "Ramblin' Wreck from Georgia Tech" sticker on the windshield when I bought the car.

They are all like that, if that's the bar they have a bend in the end. I thought the same with mine and then checked DMC.com and the original has a bend in it..

That's the shift rod, I'm aware of that bend, but I was referecing the crossgate cable holder. It's this part. https://deloreanindustries.com/19-cr...ket-stainless/

Wow that's really cool! When did your car leave Georgia/GT?
