    Repairing the broken studs from the rock screen is significantly more involved than whatever modification you were asking about on the radiator. You'll have to cut off the old ones, then drill out the hole. You could then try replacing it with a thru bolt, or have new studs welded in. It's certainly doable, but rock screens are relatively cheap anyways.

    There is no reason to remove the inlet screen to replace the radiator. Refer to C:14:03 for the procedure to remove the radiator.

    The studs on the bottom of the rock screen interface with the radiator shroud. I think this is what they mean.
    you can quickly throw a wrench on them without even jacking the car up and see if they are up for any trouble.

    No fitment issues when I replaced my OE radiator for the same reason as you with a DPI radiator about 8 years ago. I kept the OE fans and shroud.
