1981 DeLorean Vin 1224 - Grooved Hood Gas Flap with Extras

    1981 DeLorean DMC-12 Vin #1224 - $21000

43,6xx miles Located in the North of San Francisco. CA car all of its life. Second owner. Everything has been documented on this vehicle, not to mention news articles about it's arrival, newsletter and catalogs from various DeLorean clubs. Original DeLorean stainless steel polish is even included.

All of the standard upgrades have been done including DeLorean Eibach suspension, coolant tank, etc have been done. Most of the original parts are included too, even the original plastic coolant tank. The tape deck has been replaced as pictured and the original non functioning deck is included.

The vehicle needs paint on both bumpers. The interior is cracking and most of the weather seals are failing. There is a rock chip in the windshield. The AC does not work. There is a low frequency noise coming from the rear end when driving that is independent of the rpms but grows with speed. I think it might be a wheel bearing issue but have not explored it further.

I realize the hesitation with purchasing a 30 year old car so I'm willing to answer any questions with full disclosure, I have nothing to hide. I should be posting video of that vehicle starting and running sometime soon.

Feel free to email me at [email protected] with any questions.

Nice example you have there! What happened to the DMC logo? Love the gas flap hood.

The logo was removed for cleaning and subsequently misplaced. I've never bothered to replace it as it didn't bother me.

No, there is a whole binder of articles and magazines of this nature and I don't want to go through it pr separate it. Fun stuff the new owner can do.

Very beautiful car! When I am able to buy a D, I'm looking at exactly what you have...black interior, 5-speed, and grooved/gas flap hood. If only I had the $21K...good luck with sale my friend!

No-one is to stone anyone, even, and I want to make this absolutely clear, even if they do say "carburetor"
