    Trying to locate 5309

My family had VIN 5309, factory red sold in Orange County CA from Hardin. I have looked online and in different groups and forums. There is no record of this vehicle. Kind of bizarre. My family sold the DeLorean in 85' to a woman in San Francisco. Hoping to find out whatever happened to it.

You might try a search of California Motor Vehicle records by vin #. Most States have that ability for a fee. You can probably do it all online. The car might have gone through several owners and other States so it might take a while. Did you check the DoD?

    Dmc 5309

I have run the VIN through multiple search sites. Been Verified, etc. Many of the Delorean forums and archives also only have basic info reported. Red, sold through Hardin Oldsmobile in Anahem. Just odd that there is no trail. The report I ran said there is not salvage title or accidents connected to this vehicle. Maybe it was sold again outside of the US? Rotting in a barn somewhere? I wish I could just find out what happened.

Is there a way to check outside CA for smog check? I know my father sold it to a woman in SF. He cannot recall her name. He also said that she had sent him a picture a year or so later and had changed the plate to a personalized plate but he doesn't remember what the plate was.

After I responded my father messaged me that he knows for a fact that he had a couple smog checks done in CA and that the woman he sold it to also had one. Hmmmm
