    Suspension bolts tensile ratings

    Hi guys
I'm doing a front and rear suspension rebuild as part of my frame restoration.

I'm Replacing the pivot and lower link bolts and wanna make sure I get the correct ones. What tensile or grade strength should i go for.? 10.9 or 12.9 or are they all imperial "graded" bolts.

    Thanks
    Shane

I don't know the answer to the question. Two comments may help:

    A. Did you look for grading marks? The old ones may have their strength grade, at least if it is special-grade, embossed on each bolthead.

    B. Given your location perhaps getting in touch with DeloreanGo in the UK would be appropriate if you haven't pinged them already.

Looks like they stock what you want. Here is a link to the first of their several Suspension parts pages.

Other vendors certainly can sell you what you need, too.

All the pivot bolts in the suspension are 1/2" Grade 8. Some are course thread, some are fine thread. Just replace them with that came out.

Your old bolts should be marked as follows:
