AC orifice tube

I have recently installed the orifice tube in a new repro evaporator, and I found the orifice tube is free to slide about 3/4" beyond the the pipe opening before stopping. with the old evaporator, the orifice stopped near the pipe opening:

any feedback with the repro evaporator?

I am just finishing up on my evaporator, new from DMC, and that is exactly where my new orifice tube fits. I used the old orifice tube as a guide and that is
where it was too. So you are good.
