    Lower speedo cable grommet

Does anyone have any tips for installing the rubber grommet over the lower speedo cable. I have bought a new lower cable and grommet.
With some heat I can get the grommet to slip over the end part, but then I have the problem of trying to slip it over the end locking cap nut.

It seems way to big for the grommet to be able to do this even with alot of heat and lubricant.

Is there a technique I'm missing?

    Thanks

    Shane

Do people just revert to slicing into the grommet to slip it over?

There may be a better way but I did just slice mine.

The replacement cables I've seen all come with the grommet already on, so maybe that's your answer (i.e. you can't get it to slip over once the fittings are attached).

    Thanks for that guys
I didn't know some come with the grommet pre-installed. I'll check it out.
