Found this behind the passenger seat

I slid the seat forward to access the battery compartment and found this plastic piece on the carpet. Can anyone tell me what it is or where it came from so I can put it back?

It looks like part of a pen to me. I don't think it is a DeLorean part.

Isn't that (part of) the trip reset shaft?

That's the first thing that occurred to me but it seemed too long.

    Yes and yes.

Could be a little handy dandy clock setting tool. Ya know, for pressing down on the tiny button to fast forward the time ahead to correctly set it. Or maybe that's just me because my repro clock gains about a minute per week, lol.

So I verified that the piece is not from the trip odometer - that's intact and functions normally. I also thought it resembled an internal piece of a pen, but the plastic looks and feels just like the other plastic pieces of the car interior, which is why I thought maybe it came from somewhere else. I'll keep my eyes open and report back if I ever learn more about this. In the meantime, my new clock setter tool will live in the glove box!

Looks like a stylus from a Palm Pilot.
