When a woman asked me this question point blank at a car show I said "Only if you tell me how much you paid for your house." She seemed a bit put off at first, and I explained that it was a rather forward question to ask someone. I told her the general cost for a D and she told me how much her house cost, and she went on her way. The question is a bit rude, rather than asking indirectly "how much they go for."
