VIP Guest, Greg Sedoff, West Coast POG
The DCS Lite 2021 Planning Team is happy to announce Greg Sedoff,
West Coast POG, will be joining us for the entire event. Greg worked
for DeLorean Motor Company for nearly a year, under CR Brown and
he has some great stories from the early days of DMC and the QAC’s.
Greg’s presentation will be chronological, starting when he worked for
Chevrolet at the same time JZD was courting Kelly Harmon. Greg was
hired for his experience in distribution logistics, more than his technical
aspects of the DeLorean automobile, however, Greg had a lot of driving
experience with the first and only DeLorean on the road in SoCal in
early 1981 (some good, some annoying and some terrifying) and lots of
the day to day office routine has its own interesting set of stories, which
Greg is looking forward to discussing all of it and answering questions.

Last Call for Event T-Shirts while Event Registering for DCS Lite 2021
Slight change to the last date to order Event T-Shirts when registering.
Due to the timing with the upcoming weekend, we need to pull-in the
deadline for ordering T-Shirts from August 1 to July 30th about Noon.
So if you want Event T-Shirts, it’s best to order them in next 12 hours.
Although Event Registration will remain open until 08/08, we will close
the T-Shirt ordering tomorrow when Tony is ready to send in the order.
By ordering tomorrow, we should be able to pick up the order by 08/10
(or sooner) so we will have them all sorted and ready for the event.

What's the refund policy? If I can get the time off I might not know for sure until after the 8th.

Although not fully stated in advance, for the last few DCS Events (until asked),
the refund policy has remained basically the same since DCS started in 1998,
even though CC fees and PayPal fees have worked their way into the equation.
However, we have never had a DCS Event during pandemic conditions, so that
was given significant consideration prior to planning a scaled-down event this
year, both as a replacement for last year’s cancelled event and 40th Birthday.
So, with that in mind, we minimized the event cost and removed requirements
for dinners (to see the evening talks and presentations) all while still attempting
to meet facility minimums for rooms and equipment rentals, guest rooms, etc.
Even with select safeguards in place, pandemics offer few guarantees, except
that there is a much better chance to lose money than to break even, and do
not even think about making a profit. This event exists for the 40th Birthday.
With all that said, depending upon when you cancel and how you registered,
we may be able to offer a partial refund. For example, if you cancelled after
your ID was printed and laminated, and you wanted your T-Shirt and ID mailed,
then you may end up with about a $20 refund, plus your items mailed to you.
Any refund would not be processed until well after this event, due to the other
DeLorean 40th Birthday Events and British Car Shows in late August and Sept.
Long answer short, partial refunds would be available, as volunteer processing
of the refunds allow, but other substitutions may be available, such as a signed
Framing John DeLorean poster, signed by Zachary DeLorean and Tamir Ardon.
There are no guarantees any items, including posters or extra T-Shirts will be
left at the end of the Convention, but attendees will have the first opportunity,
followed by registered attendees needing refunds, then some may go on eBay.
More details to follow, if needed or if requested.

VIP Guest, Norm Ellsworth, Midwest POG
The DCS Lite 2021 Planning Team is happy to announce Norm Ellsworth,
Midwest POG, will drive to POG Fest with Jeff Synor and Chris Duvall.
DCS regulars, Jeff (King POG) and Chris (Parts POG) should all make
it to DCS Lite 2021 by Friday and they will be here through Sunday.
It’s been a few years since I met Norm during a Woodward Weekend
with Jeff and Chris, but he had some great DMC and POG stories and
he promised to make it out to DCS after he retired, which was recently.
We plan to see Norm again later in the month at the Woodward Cruise.
Norm also has some stories about a topic close to Tony Swann, and that
is because Norm was assigned VIN...520 for a while and Norm’s name is
on one of the reference lists given to the Receivers (who had - what car)
and that list is one of the first documents Tony used to find some POG’s.
Although we will have to wait and see if Tony will get VIN...520 prepped
for Summer use in time (AC needs recharge), Norm is looking forward to
talking about his days at DMC and QAC’s, and spend some time with the
other POG’s at DCS Lite 2021, including Greg, Jeff and Chris.

Returning VIP Guest, Ronnie Arnold, 50K mile Endurance Test Driver
The DCS Lite 2021 Planning Team is happy to announce Ronnie Arnold,
DeLorean 50K mile Endurance Test Driver will be a returning VIP Guest
(first DCS appearance at DCS 2016) to tell a bit more about endurance
testing the early DeLoreans and to endure some of our DMC questions.
Ronnie and the other 50K mile endurance drivers were the critical path
at the end of the DeLorean project, to make sure early DeLoreans were
durable enough to be given the stamp of approval to be built and sent
over to the US market in the Spring of 1981.
We thank Ronnie and his fellow test drivers and mechanics for helping
make the DeLoreans ready to launch, 40 years ago. Thanks Ronnie.
