Motors about after dark
If anyone is traveling up I-81 close to Kingsport/Bristol tomorrow, let me know and I will take you to lunch. I will be working right off exit 69(Blountville/ Bristol Speedway exit) most of the day and I will be home at I-81/I -26 interchange (I 26 exit 10 Eastern Star Rd) after work so feel free to reach out for a pit stop no matter what time. There are 2 awesome BBQ joints within a stone's throw of each exit and I would be happy to treat you to a lunch and beer or just hang at the house for a few. Plenty of eats and drinks here and you could actually see a real DeLorean!
PS Thursday and Friday I will be working in Bristol about 2 miles away from Bristol Speedway so I am open for lunch dates any day.

Drive Carefully - Stormy Evening Weather
Summer has returned with a vengeance this week, with temps in the 90’s
and heat indexes 105-110, and heavy T-Storms the past two evenings.
More of the same is expected the next few days, so make sure to check
weather conditions before you fly out or before driving to the convention.
As a welcome surprise, the hotel was able to get parking lot improvements
done last week, including patching, seal coating and re-striping of the lot.
Only Ken K. and his Faded Asphalt Society would be disappointed. LOL
The combo of sunny, hot days and rainy nights have “cured” the surface.
I received an email from one VIP Guest who has had his flight rescheduled
due to weather delays (so far), which is why we like to get our VIP Guests
to the Convention a day in advance, to make sure there is a “buffer” to
work with, in case there are weather delays, either local or along the way.
Drive Safe.

Emergency weather update ... Power outage at host hotel
EMERGENCY WEATHER UPDATE ... POWER OUTAGE AT HOST HOTEL
Well, I guess you can say that I saw this coming this morning.
Power is out at Holiday Inn Conference Center due to the storms.
Power may be restored by this evening or early tomorrow.
Storm still moving through Illinois, headed toward Indy.
More details to follow.

One more hot and humid one today...for first full day
Mother Nature will be giving us one more hot and humid day,
then things should get milder for the remainder of the week.
Power is still up and running for the past 14 hours, so after a
few more AV tests (projector check out) we should be OK.
Sorry for all the confusion yesterday while the hotel tried to
get everyone checked in with their reservations system down
until very late in the evening. I know this was challenging for
most of us and unbearable for a few, but today is a better day.
Hope to see many of you, a little better rested, later this morning.

Despite the challenges, Zachary had a great First DCS Day
For those of you wondering, Zachary DeLorean arrived yesterday at DCS Lite
and he had a great first day. With all the challenges with power issues and
weather issues, which Zach saw first hand, hanging out with me all day, he
took it all in stride and was busy taking it all in. In short, a very good day.
Thanks to everyone who made Zachary feel welcome at his first DeLorean
Event Ever. Zach shared stories with several DeLorean owners, fans and
enthusiasts, including Dinner with the Hollers, which was on Zach’s list.
Join the Hollers this morning, as we kick things off with more stories.
Event Agenda is up on the website and hard-copies will also be available at
the Event Registration table outside of Walnut III Room, next to Birch Room.
See you all you attendees after breakfast.

Positive Result to Rapid COVID Test for DMCMW Open House Attendee
DCS Lite 2021 Attendees,
We have been notified by DMCMW of an Open House attendee that has
had a Positive Result to a COVID Rapid Test today on 08/16/2021.
More details below.
For DCS attendees who also attended the DMC Midwest Open House,
we wanted to make you aware that an Open House attendee has had a
Positive Result to a Rapid COVID Test today. The person’s spouse had a
Negative Result to the same type of Rapid COVID Test today. The person
had COVID two to three months ago and this test may be a False Positive.
We anticipate the person will get a follow-up Deep Nasal Swab test done.
The person visited the Open House for 60-90 minutes. The person only
spoke to approximately 10-12 people (indoors) in the DMCMW Showroom
within close proximity (less than 6 feet away). All other talking was done
at least 3 feet away from others, while outside. We hope that providing
this information (in addition to the initial notice to RSVPs from DMCMW),
that you are aware of a possible low-risk exposure during the Open House.
We plan to post more details as they are released and confirmed.
Thanks,
DCS Lite 2021 - COVID Response Team

Technically, I’m not sure which spouse was Positive and since everyone
is trying to both inform and attempt to be as anonymous as possible,
I was able to provide more information, but not a complete picture.
It appears the person was not at the Holiday Inn Conference Center, but
I have not confirmed that. I have also not confirmed the person was not
wearing a mask indoors, during the time they were in the Showroom.
