TAB bushing bolt lock nut aka jam nut.

A question for you guys. How many people have not put the lock nut back in? Can you just use a lock washer?

    Thanks

This is not the place for a lock washer. Some will argue split lock washers have no use in any situation.

The TAB bolt is already a poor design, just go with what has been known to work.

Well the reason I'm asking is that I'm replacing the TABs and everything is out. I noticed that for the bushing one bolt has a lock washer and the other a lock nut. So can't you just use a lock washer instead of the lock nut.
I hopping to not deal with that pain in the butt. I will if I have to.

are you refering to the two M8 bolts per side or the large M12 bolt.

For the small bolts these threads are prone to stripping out, Ive seen it happen before. If they strip out and there is no nyloc in behind its the same as breaking the large TAB bolt.

    Yes the M8s.
    Ok I can understand that.
I will use a lock nut.
The TABs I have do have nyloc nuts and I do know that some people have put lock nuts on those.

    Thanks

The M8s on my project are definitely in poor condition. I'd say their replacement was of more immediate concern than the TABs in this case.

My bolts aren't that bad definitely reusable. There is some rust on them but there off so I'm going to replace them.
