To Tint or Not to Tint?

Hello all. I recently purchased 6315 from DMC-FL and live in AZ. The car only has 11k miles on it, but also has tint already installed. I’m considering leaving it on since it’ll be driven primarily in AZ. I’ll be inquiring more on the condition of the tint. But I’ll consider having them remove it before they send it out to me too.

Is tint on a DeLorean blasphemy? To tint or not to tint?

Unless it's 5% limo tint, leave it on. I think almost all cars today come factory tinted, and it does make a difference with heat (I used to live in Sierra Vista AZ), less UV on your interior when parked outside among other things. Some links below about tint.

I'm in Ohio and have window tint on my car. Helps keep cool in summer and AC work less cause I don't turn it up as much anymore.

I would think tinting in FL & AZ would just be mandatory. :-)

This, and the “nearly clear” ceramic tint on the windshield helps also. My wife says her legs don’t get cooked when she wears shorts. Im hoping it helps protect the dash.

I’m sure any UV protection is better than none. I appreciate the feedback guys

This hits home with me coz it was a tough decision. I had no tint on my car and I love the look of an untinted D, and am not a fan of dark tint on any car. However at the end of the day after having my interior redone, I had to do whats best for the car. Keeping in mind also that these cars deserve the best. So I had my windows tinted. all 8 windows. Windshield 50% and the rest 70%. Seems dark but again my reasoning is ultimately to protect the interior. So i recommend having the windows tinted.

I know I'm late to the thread, but I agree with tint in the sunny South. Living in Florida, I did my car, including the (almost clear) windshield with ceramic tint. It made a world of difference in solar heating of the cabin. I wouldn't want to be without it again. Aside from functionality/necessity, I think dark tint looks good.

100%. I would not own a car without tint - especially living in South Florida. Plus any additional UV protection for dashes and binnacles is a plus.

I got my car tinted this summer, I wish I had it done sooner. Helps a lot with the AC.

My only complaint is with the rear and rear quarter windows tinted it effectively doubles the "darkness" so it hinders your ability to properly shoulder check at night.
