I got out my new coolant hoses. The kit I bought from D-Ind ditches the metal tube in the valley and replaces it with a silicone hose. I was very confused with how the set up goes. There is a coupler that has a mounting bracket on it. Josh has been very good at being available by messenger lately so we messaged back and forth about it. I thought that it should go here (2nd photo). And he said it goes here (1st photo). I couldn't understand how this would possibly work so he sent me this picture (3rd picture) So I we figured out that I was missing a spacer and longer bolt that I was supposed to have.

One super annoying thing is that I am missing the o ring that goes behind the timing cover and the crank seal. So I am going to have to order those.

Which o ring are you talking about? Not sure I know what you mean. Part number?

I have that same kit. A year later so far so good. Had my intake off last month and no signs of leakage from it so I'm satisfied.

I was looking at and feeling the area of the crank pulley where the seal rides. It was really rough feeling from the plating. I sanded this area and also the inside of the pulley. I still don't love how the seal area looks and feels still so I think I am going to have my buddy chuck it up in a lathe and take just a tiny bit off and polish it up.

The one behind the plate which is behind the idler pulley bracket.

Okay got it. Also you should just put a sleeve on the crank pulley now.

The last thing I did is tip the engine on its side and dumped some oil into the port behind the oil filter as described in the book for priming the pump.
We don't have the oil dipstick housing installed yet so of course oil ran out all over the floor.

You think so? Rather than just skimming a tiny bit off from it? Does the sleeve require reducing the OD of the pulley?

Worked on the car 5 hours today. I gave my wife the new alternator to figure out. She was angry because it didn't come with the bolt and nut for the adjuster (the one on the motor) but she found a bolt and nut in our left over parts. It was even a stainless steel bolt and nut.

While she was doing that I prepped and primed all of the parts on the engine that were bare steel so they wouldn't rust.
