An LS4 is showing 478 lbs so it's quite a bit more.

There is approximately 70lbs added to the car with one of our swaps (utilizing a LS4 and stock 5 speed transaxle).
The LS4 engine itself as a longblock weighs 345lbs, the 478 figure would consider the weight of the accessories, intake, headers, starter, flywheel, etc.

And for completeness, since I had trouble finding the answers to this first time around, the manual transmission is 112-115lbs (depending upon who you ask) - as noted here:

The auto is "It's around 150 lbs without oil or torque converter." according to Mr T, which seems right. The TC is surely another 20lbs:

Which as I'm sure plenty of people realize, pushing the 1/4 ton first setting on a Harbor freight shop crane if you lift both.

It isn't "just" the weight. Where it is positioned in the car makes a lot of difference too. Behind the rear wheels is not an optimum position because it increases the polar moment and angular momentum meaning if you lose traction on the rear wheels the back will tend to swing more and faster when there is more weight behind the rear wheels. It can happen so quickly and go past the point of no return that the driver will not be able to correct for it and you will spin out. One reason for the asymmetric tire sizing front to rear. Lotus designers gave the Delorean a bigger footprint for more traction to avoid this. VW's and Porches also have this objectionable trait being rear engined too. With any engine swap you also must consider increasing all of the ancillary systems too like cooling (a more powerful motor will generate more heat that must be absorbed and dissipated by the cooling system). That increases weight too.
