Is this an updated inertia switch?

What is this pigtail for? The other 2 connections for plungers are connected - dome lights are working.

Maybe not.
The upgraded inertia switch has a big splotch of white paint on one of the sides not seen in this photo. Look on left side of yours or dismount it and look at all sides.
See post #4 in this thread. Which also mentions the relocation of the switch to the left footwell per the recall.

Owners often disconnect the wire from the second LH door plunger switch to stop the annunciator from buzzing when the door is open. The buzzer is obnoxious. The first plunger switch handles the door and interior lighting, so, as you noted, interior lights are unaffected by disconnecting the buzzer. If you want, you can reconnect the purple/blue to hear how the buzzer sounds (assuming your annunciator still functions). I'm betting you quickly disconnect it.

Thanks guys. No white paint on the side - I'll source an updated one. Does the relocation require a bracket or just screwed into the body?

Updated ones are here. Other vendors may also have a stock of them.
Mount it directly and firmly to the body tub mid-high on left panel so as not to kick it.
Use longer screws if need be. Bracket stays.
Be sure it?s set squarely, not tilted.
Toss the old switch.
