O2 sensor finally changed- Need Dwell feedback

Finally got the O2 sensor replaced with a Bosch and performed the smoke tests to confirm no vacuum leaks. I cannot interpret this dwell, as it is not what the textbook would suggest I should have.

Thoughts and recommendations as to bring it more into line with accepted values?

Your video shows high dwell numbers. Remember you want to center around 20 deg. on the 8 cylinder scale. Looks to be swinging more that normal. Take it for a short drive and then check it again to see if that swing gets less.

Dave's right about this target. Commenting here only about the target and how to get there, not the swing.

Your dwell midpoint is something like 32deg instead of ~20deg.

Use this how-to-video with Chris Miles as a reference to dial yours in.

Note that Chris' Actron dwell meter is a different model from yours - the scales are reversed so make your adjustment accordingly. You'll need just a small fraction of a turn.

    Thanks Dave and Rich.

Which direction is that small turn, left or right?

    a. Since you have the meter try it each way and it will tell you whether you guessed correctly. No penalty for learning by going the wrong way as long as you make each adjustment a very small one.
    b. Spoiler alert: (Clockwise)

And as Chris mentions, plug the adjustment hole after each adjustment, before reading the meter.
