    DMCH broken parts

Hi all, I bought the replacement door handles from DMCH back in June. I finally got to installing them today, more than 90 days later which is apparently the length of their warranty. One of the two immediately broke after I installed it. The plastic shroud came disconnected from the glue after being used about three times. Have people had good experiences with getting defective products replaced from DMCH? Should I expect to get a replacement or should I figure I'll be buying a new one?

Something similar happened with me, I had a clutch master fail. I didn't install it until near the end of the warranty, it failed within the warranty period. I was trying to trouble shoot the problem, by the time I found out it was the master and called, it was less than 24 hours past the warranty. You would have a hard time getting DMCH to honor any warranty regardless of weather it was in the warranty period or not, if you meet up with other delorean owners they often have stories of DMCH weaseling their way out of honoring warranties. In the future don't order from them, if you want something they sell, get it from one of their satellite shops. They tend to be much more reputable. I buy parts from delorean industries or delorean go and rock auto, I'll even modify parts from the auto store before I'd buy from DMCH.

When DMCH opens on Monday, why not give them a call and an opportunity to correct it. No need for speculation here as to what they may or may not do to remedy your issue at such an early point in the process.

That's disappointing to say the least. I've had a DMCH door handle on my driver's side since 2015 or so; it's been fine. Maybe you just got one bad one in the batch. I would call and see if they're willing to help. Sarah has been extremely helpful to me in the past.

Hi. I bought tons of parts from DMCH and DMCFL over the last 10 years. I had issues with one or two parts, and I just called and explained the situation. They always made it right. So, I never had a problem with them. They are all good people.

Keep in mind, getting service from any company especially past a warranty period requires being articulate with the problem, professional, and it helps to avoid flaming them online.

Houston has been as good as the best of the other vendors in terms of taking care of parts warranty issues for me over the years. Just call or email Jay at the admin address.

In fact, in July I ordered the same pair of door handles you ordered. One of those handles arrived with that shroud already disconnected from the yoke of the handle, same as the one that broke on you. I e-mailed Jay who replied the next day offering to send me a replacement right away at no charge along with a paid return label I used to send the bad one back to them.

Too bad yours busted after you went to the trouble of installing it.
