Johnny Carsons Delorean (2439) on auction at Hagerty

Johhny Carsons first Delorean is up for auction now on Hagerty.
It will be interesting to see how much of a premium the celebrity status will add to the final price vs what a comparable condition non-celebrity car would likely get. Full restoration by DMCFL this year, so its very clean.

Interesting. I didn?t even know Hagerty had auctions. If you go there, scroll through the George Forman collection.

I saw that article and thought that VIN looked familiar. My former D was made 110 cars before Johnny's. I never got locked in mine however.

Looks really clean indeed. Possibly too clean. If I was buying Johnny Carson's former D, I'd want that driver's seat to still contain some authentic Carson butt-juice.

I don't care that it has engine upgrades. It just means it can be driven. But if someone wants to get nitpicky. The integrated door pulls and rear antenna isn't supposed to be there.
I hope whoever gets it, drives it.

Greater than 130 k for a 40 year old car.... I don't think they would drive it much.

I saw 98 K. Anyways I prefer a 40 year old car to have 100k + miles. That means things were replaced as it aged. But for me, I don?t place any value on the celebrity part. Obviously, others do.

... and if the butt juice can be authenticated, that adds 12.5k to the total!
