    My VIN:    1768

    Club(s):   (NCDMC) (DCUK)

Vin 1768 on a Mustang dyno:

    Max WHP: 114.1 @5300rpm
    max TQ : 143.6 @2800rpm
    57k miles
    stock engine
    empty cat
    MSD 2 coil
    cold air intake
    2' more timing than stock

Comparing my previous best run on the dyno which was ran without air cleaner or cat vs the new coil, with air filter and cold air intake installed, i gained nearly 10hp and just about 13 ftlb of torque! This is the highest power iv ever heard from a stock engine

Not sure on the brand of the dyno - these are the guys who did it: http://www.lsv8power.co.uk/

They do a lot of work direct with the manufacturers (Aston Martin, Porsche etc) to make sure cars off the production line are putting out what they're supposed to, so whatever it is it's pretty well trusted!

    Question Drivetrain loss %?

Would everyone agree the drivetrain loss for a 5-speed Delorean is around 25%?

I was doing some math and that would put my engine close to 190HP at the flywheel with 141 HP at the wheels. If drivetrain loss is only 20% than at the flywheel it would only be 175-180HP.

    Date/Temp:October 11th, 2011, approximately 76 degrees

    Location: Toronto, Ontario

    Dynometer Brand: Dynojet

    Max RWHP: 98.4 at 4700+/-RPM
Max RWTQ: 131.6 at 2300+/- RPM (stock)

Max RWHP: 104.3 at 4800 rpm
Max RWTQ: 132.6 at 2500 rpm (Cold Air Intake)

    5-Speed Transmission: 112,400 miles, stock-style clutch.

    Engine: completely stock

    Mods: ceramic coated factory exhaust.

    Dyno results:
Wow! That's not bad. Almost 6hp from the CAI alone. How much did it cost to have the exhaust ceramic coated, if you don't mind me asking?

    Post DMCH Stage III Engine

Quote below taken from Stephen Wynne at DMCH recently on another thread...

"Many people got the chance to drive the Stage III at the track during the DMC Open House this past October, and it's now available for installation.

Performance numbers are an estimated 233hp and 230ft lbs of torque at the flywheel (based on the generally accepted 32% transmission/tire loss for horsepower and 20% loss of torque). Over three runs; one on a 90degree day and two the following morning with the temp in the mid-upper 70s, the max horsepower at the wheels was 157.53 and torque of 184.48. The low numbers on the 90 degree day were 153.97hp and 179.64 ft. lb."

I agree with the power loss DMCH quoted. Most stock engines (known 130bhp) dyno just under 100hp at the wheels. Josh I fiqure you at 185 to 190bhp. Nice numbers for a NA motor!

If you go buy what Stephen said for HP drivetrain loss (32%) then actually I would have 207HP (207HP-32%=140.76HP) and 175TQ with 20% drivetrain loss(175TQ-20%=140TQ)

If you do the math, 130HP-23%=100.1 HP which is what most cars chassis dyno.

Therefore at 23% I would have 183HP at the flywheel which sounds more realistic to me than 207HP.

Am I doing the math wrong?

Stephen said "max horsepower at the wheels was 157.53 and torque of 184.48" with the stage III supercharger. So my NA car is 16.5HP and 44.5TQ less...I would think there would be more HP out of a supercharger setup. It appears to have alot more low end pull.

Does anyone have stock torque specs on the chassis dyno? I believe 160TQ is stock at the flywheel?
