    Working?

Any particular reason you want an OEM one? The starter from a 1988 Eagle Premiere works perfectly, is smaller in size, more powerful and better overall.

I second that. Forget the original and get the Eagle starter. Higher torque, smaller size, lighter weight, and reman warranty depending on the vendor.

    Thanks, guys.

I was told that it was well made, but the Eagle one might work, too.

So, do you mean an OEM for the Eagle, or a new one that fits? I found this one, for instance: https://www.ebay.com/itm/15610304011...3ABFBMqMa94cJj -- is this what you're referring to?

    I appreciate the help!

Get if from a place like autozone, so when it goes out you can get a free replacement.

Roughly the same price if you don't have one to return, the Ultima R612473B also works: https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/c...R612473B&pos=0

If you might eventually look into some aftermarket exhaust pieces, I think these newer models are clearly superior because they get in the way less. They sound a bit cooler too, at least to me, and they are lighter so you save a tiny amount on gas mileage.

But for what it's worth, the factory starter would start my car more quickly than the Ultima does. The Ultima seems to take about a half-second longer. Since I am not interested in aftermarket exhaust parts, in hindsight I slightly prefer the stock starter. But by such a small amount is is not worth finding one and swapping back to it.

I'm not so sure there is Autozone in Poland, Niccolo can you confirm or deny for us?

Niccolo, I wonder if this one would fit. Tomcio would probably know for sure.

If I'm not wrong, Delorean Go offers exactly same unit as a modern replacement.

My factory starter was perfectly fine (rebuilt probably 20 years ago) but when I had the engine out for a frame-off it appeared that with the DPI Spec exhaust installed, I would not be able to remove the starter for replacement without also removing the passenger side header which is actually quite difficult anyway since you have to remove at least one exhaust stud to do it.

For that reason alone, I bought the Ultima starter. Works great.
