Can't modify the back cover. The outlet to Y pipe is not the problem, it's the smaller outlet for the return line. You could cut the return pipe down and use a longer heater hose from the cover to the pipe if needed. The Y pipe "fits" the same as the delorean but it lacks any threaded ports for sensors - there are spots for them but they'd have to be drilled and tapped.

To keep things simple, just use the back plate from the pump already on the engine with your new pump of choice - again, it does not matter if you use the Volvo 780 Bertone 2.8 pump if you want the bolt on pulley, or the Eagle 3.0 pump if you want the press on pulley - the Delorean back plate will fit either of these.

Although the back plate may fit it won't be oriented correctly, using the delorean's back plate.

The y pipe hose is on the opposite size of yours, that looks like a problem getting a hose from the back of the Delorean stock pump to the y pipe. The heater hose is no problem, just extend the hose and remove the hard line.

What I was wondering if we could use the volvo y pipe so that we could use a baritone pump with it's back plate, the drilling and tapping shouldn't be a problem. I think I'll just do an engine swap though.

Now I see it, this is why I shouldn't comment when I don't have the parts side by side - everything I'm looking at is upside down/backwards. Ron, delete my posts lol.
