What is a D's Theoretical Top Speed vs Actual

Using the motor turning 2500 RPM's (just a guess) at 70 MPH. What would the Delorean's top speed be? You can only go so fast and you run out of gears.

While were at it what is the Top Speed you have achieved?

I remember a thread that talked about what is the fastest you have ever been but I'm curious about the fastest in your Delorean.

The Alpine GTA turbo has the same transmission and a PRV with the same red line. It has a slightly taller 5th but slightly smaller rear wheels and has a top speed of 155mph. It's *much* more powerful and aerodynamic.

My friend Rob took his DeLorean with my turbo engine conversion, based on the same Alpine PRV, to 145 "and still pulling, but ran out of road".

I squeezed my DeLorean up to 120mph on a de-catted original exhaust but I'm not sure my fuelling was 100%.

Here, I had an indicated 125 MPH indicated (from another chase car), on a basically factory original US spec car - Now I do happen to know the chase cars spedo reads about 5 MPH higher than actual by 100 MPH, so in reality I think the flat-ground top speed is more like 118 MPH, however I have no doubt that with some "improvements" the car would make 120+ fairly easily.

a late night run between LA and Sacramento the GPS in my D calimed 122, it took a while to get there and wasnt likely to get much higher. i think a better flowing exhaust would help get to 130

I am running DMC-CA's Stage II with the new Exhaust, and I was able to get my car up to around 130+ going into Vegas for DCS. What a rush

I had mine up to 113 en route to Vegas while going along Route 66. The car still had more to give, but the road wasn't up to much more. The other thing to consider is that the car was loaded with travel gear and had both myself and my father as occupants. With less weight, on a better road, it'd be a different story.

I have been up to 120 + according to my chase car with still pedal and rpms left , running automatic Stage 2,

then my wife called and told me to slow down cause I was still moving out

Got to do that again since Ive put the new speedo in

Somehow its easier to speed if you dont know how fast you are going!

I swear officer it only said 85

As far as I know I've only hit 85

My gps got run over by my PT Loser the day before I picked up 1632. Sigh.

You know you're a DeLorean owner when "Run DMC" is not an 80's band, but a daily prayer.
