Which would you rather have in your Delorean?
Auto
Manual
Either one, don't matter.

I have an auto, but want the manual. That being said, the manual is much easier to drive. Each has it's ups and downs and each one has a weak spot. Autos burn through governors and are short hp, manuals do that stupid rev thing in 2nd gear if you rev it too high, and from what I've seen, the shift pivot bolts like to break

I've owned both and driven many, I prefer a 5-Speed D.
eBay selling at it's best I can tell you stock Delorians and quite a bit of slugs so the Turbo is a super nice up-grade.

I'm not a fan of 5-speeds, so I'll say Auto

As it is supposed to be my weekend car, I would vote for a manual.
But of course I have an auto.

I don't always drive cars, but when I do, I prefer DeLoreans

It's all personal preference. Each one will have its fans, for various reasons.
That said, it's manual for me.

I have a driven both and enjoyed them! It would be a tough decision, but I'm going to go by the condition of the car and the price.
The thing about the manual Deloreans is that when you downshift make sure you are in the right gear The pattern is close together, but once you get the hang of it it's a blast to drive!
The auto Deloreans are wonderful, especially in heavy traffic. Usually there are less things to go wrong with the auto Deloreans (depending on how well it's been kept). As for the transmission governor, my bud replaced his about 9k miles ago with the digital unit from DMC Houston and has had no issues since.
Like I said it can go either way for me, both cars are fun!

I was told once, at a very impressionable age, that in order for a sports car to be a TRUE sports car it can only have two seats, and has to be a manual. I have come to agree with this thought. But, I also have the luxury of having two cars. Truck for work, and the D for fun.
With traffic the way it is these days (at least in my area) I believe an automatic is the only reasonable choice for a daily driver, it's just plain easier. But I'd also never own a true sports car such as a DeLorean or 280Z without having a practical car. No one ever bought a car such as that for it's practicality.
With that said, clearly, manual is the only way to go for a DeLorean.
