Well the knuckle taper was clean and so was the ball joint. So I had to use a dremal just a little to get the 1/8" carter pin installed.
Shock spacers had to be cut a little shorter.
I see also when the shock is fully extended it just touches the spring on inboard side. The spring is curved inboard when fully extended. My easy rider shocks must have a larger dia. body then stock shocks. If your designing a new LCA then I would recommend you move the lower shock bolt holes a little further outboard to fix that.
I attached a photo of the original lower ball joint carter pin hole. It was drilled so high the carter pin did nothing to lock the nut. Someone did a crappy job doing the recall.
