Finally fixed the engine cover grilles. It was missing a piece when I bought it and 3 pieces were installed incorrectly. Feels good to do a simple quick fix for a change.

Pulled intake and pipes, cleaned the VOD, found the source of the oil leak in the main oil galley, TIG welded a plate over it, started researching engine swaps.

Went for the final drive of the season, replaced a bad accumulator, did an oil change for the first time in 3 years. Parked for the winter now.

    I gotta drive it more. . .

    *ears perking up*

What sort of engine swap possibilities are we talking about? PRV 3.0? VR6? LS?

My oil is almost 2 years old. I bet I didn't drive 500 miles this year

I've been blown away by what Nicholas and Josh have done with their LS1 and LS4 swaps. Their documentation and blog updates have been a great read with so much detail in them. I've wanted to explore the possibility of adopting a Porsche Gear box. The "Worlds fastest Delorean" mentions he is using a Porsche 996 g96.01 6-speed, which is interesting and cheaper then the G50 boxes.

My brother and I were able to crank and build pressure with no more oil leak so I'll be continue the restore with the stock engine now, but my intentions is to swap eventually since I've always dreamed of a swapped Delorean

Ugly, hard to TIG weld the block since it was saturated in oil for years, but seems to stop the leak for now.
