On Sunday, I walked into the Valley of Death to replace a leaking hose and to clean the valley. Rite of Passage unlocked I suppose. Cannot wait to put her back together

Removing the BigBrownBundle of alternator wires in favor of a single 4ga wire from the bulkhead bolt to jump start post makes a world of difference.

I took a couple feet out of the main/large +12Vdc wire, separated it from the minor wires and ran it directly to the alternator rather than over or under the intake manifold. As I recall, I went into the passenger pontoon and back out near the alternator. Looks much better and makes it easier to run/hide the minor wires to switches and sensors. My 2 cents worth which make be too much.

- No matter how many people believe in a dumb idea ... it is still a dumb idea!
- Some cars look fast. Some cars look faster than time!
- The question is not "where did the time go" but rather "where to go in time".
I'm going to be installing DMCNW's adjustable fan switch and eliminating the otterstat this weekend.

I do but it was part of a conversion to EFI and not a good example for what a Kjet car would look like.
Most of the taped bundle in the photo posted earlier (and linked below) is alternator wire. It runs from the (+) bulkhead bolt all the way around the engine and down to the alternator. You can remove it entirely and run a much shorter lead from the (+) bolt to the jump post. I used a cable I bought at the grocery store LOL. This is how later 83 cars were made.
If you untape & remove the brown wires, then route the sensor/AC/switch wires on the sides or under the manifold, it really cleans up the appearance.
