    Starting to feel clairvoyant with this car. Was reading a thread a couple weeks ago about a failing alternator and it looked just like mine, a Motorola with some gooey drip. I decided it was time to replace mine, and was planning to do so the weekend of Nov 9th when my wife is out of town.

    Well, I am registered for a car show today that is 140 miles away and as I am driving away from my house my voltmeter looks like this:

    Ouch. Put a multimeter on it and it only registers 11.4v. No car show for me today.

    One small consolation is that my insurance covers car show fees for stuff like this.
