on a side note, when i pulled the front black grill off, i was greeted remnants of a mouse nest, complete with a dead mouse carcass. easily several years old (back from when the previous owner had the car sitting i'd assume). cleaned all that out and spruced up that cavity behind the grill a bit. that was... fun.
I found the speedometer cable. Now I have a functional speedometer! It is somewhat bouncy below 25mph (around +/- 2mph), so Ill have to troubleshoot it when I get access to a drill and helper. I used all new parts so I might have installed something incorrectly.
mine also bouncy below 25mph, even with a lubed cable and new angle drive dust shield. im figuring its just the nature of a mechanical speedo. way i figure it, anything below 25mph is just the car saying "hey, you're moving, aren't ya?"

Mine does that too, I don't trust it. I never drive without my GPS app telling me my speed.
Today I wired in a bluetooth unit that I connected to an FM modulator and then hooked it all up to a new switch that replaces one of my dummies:
I'm not sure I'm sold on the quality of the bluetooth device itself ($30 made in china unit) but it works for now and will be super easy to swap out with a different one later on if I decide (30 second unplug old and plug in new).
Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go rock out in the car.
