Installed a new set of the "improved" fuzzy caterpillars, hooked the power mirror cable back up, hot glued the door trim back back onto the plastic and put all of the trim back on the driver door. I need to clean up the passenger side and reglue the membrane back on before I put the trim back on.

If those are the window wipe thingies (AKA Dew wipes: http://www.topsdown.com/product.php?productid=1150), consider using the Ford Probe window wipes. They are far superior and are an easy install. The hardest part is getting the donor set out of that Probe as it drives down the block

Everyone: when you are at the local salvage yard, check to see if there are any Ford Probes and grab a set for the next time you go into the door.

I saw that link after I had already bought some from DMC. The ones I got a few months ago were similar to the original and they fell apart very quickly. DMC sent me a replacement pair of the new style that they make. The fuzzy part isnt as thick as the old ones.

Built a front frame brace from 1.25" tubing, going to do some testing if this actually does anything.

Wanted to top-off fluids, but due to recent oil change, no oil needed.

I did have to add some coolant. The existing antifreeze is a few years old, but it still looks clean-n-green, so I didn't think I needed to change it. But just in case it lost any anti-freeze/anti-boil effectiveness, I added 100% (instead of 50/50 pre-mix). Ran the car for about 20 minutes to get a good mix inside cooling system.

They actually do! I installed the one kit on my car and my best friend's car about 8 years ago and we did back-to-back testing with one car installed and the other card not installed going around corners at the exact same speeds and you can actually feel a little bit more stability in the front end where the front end does not have as much wobble going around a sharp turn at a faster than normal speed. So I would have to say it actually does a little bit of something up front.

Installed Tomcio door lights this morning! Reposting from http://dmctalk.org/showthread.php?68...l=1#post210824

    The box, very nice presentation:

The diffusers were sold out, so I used lighting gels, commonly used for photography and stage lighting, to make my own by cutting squares and taping them in my lenses:

finally got underneath and made a slight adjustment to the reverse lockout cable.

hopefully this gets rid of the reverse gear grind (and occasional difficulty even getting into it) i was getting when trying to put the car into reverse when it's warm.

I replaced my door struts and louvre struts - just have to do the front trunk ones. For the most part it went pretty quick, aside from the driver door being stubborn - the top disconnected easily but the bottom part took some finagling and a little bit of force with a small pry bar. The new ones popped right on (the Stabilus lifts from Hervey). Wow what a difference those make, and no more saggy drooping passenger door on cold days.
