Celebrated 1 year being married to my wife and took the DeLorean along the Shenandoah Valley and back to where we were married 1 year ago! Took the car to country vineyards and all through the mountains! Im thankful of my wife and for her being a gear head herself and loving my DeLorean and wanting it in our wedding and saying the car is family! Went back to Berryville VA to where it began! Last pic was the magic day!

Took 831 for its first drive in about a year, and pumped it with premium to make up for octane loss. I'm still working to finish the interior completely, but unfortunately, all the R-12 has leaked out somehow.
Hope I don't have to replace anything, since that would require new hoses for the late style accumulator...

And yes, it's filthy.

i recently had the same thing happen (high side's schrader valve failed, leaking almost all the R12). for what it's worth, i took it to my local shop and had them remove what was left of the R12, backflush the entire system to clean it out without disturbing any of the connections, install R134a adapters, and vacuum pressure test it (it held just fine after the schrader valves/adapters were replaced/installed).
they then filled the stock compressor with ester oil, and put in ~2lbs of R134a.
my AC now blows 43-45deg and i didn't change/replace a single original component. even if the hoses do leak a little bit of r134a over time, buying a recharge can from any local auto parts store is going to be a lot cheaper (and easier) than replacing the hoses, especially when they're in good condition.

Well today, I've decided to just rebuild the AC system and convert it to r134a. With the hot and humid weather down here, I'd rather not worry about my AC any time soon.
I have already removed the compressor and accumulator from the car, and soon, those damned hoses will also be out.

It was obviously time to rebuild the AC system once I took a look at the orfice tube...

There are bits and pieces of metal lodged in the filter. Also, with that kind of bend in the evap pipe, I guess I shouldn't go with a variable orfice valve.

You've already done the hard part... Hoses were pretty easy when I did mine last year. I used the DPI hoses and they were super simple to install, once i figured out where the fittings went.I have already removed the compressor and accumulator from the car, and soon, those damned hoses will also be out.
