Aluminum pipes & Cooling hoses
I faced this very problem when I replaced my cooling hoses. The aluminum pipes would corrode under all the rubber hose connections, causing me to epoxy repair the holes in my aluminum pipes before replacing with new hoses.
Be sure to check UNDER all rubber hose connections for hidden corrosion. Or you'll be like the squirrel (post 1767) repairing many holes once your cooling system is under pressure. (This might be you pounding your garage floor if you don't check)

I found 2 more leaks today. I think the cold has brought the problem to attention. I drove it home from work and couldn't spot any active leaking while the car was running once in my garage. There's been no change in the coolant level so far and unlike my first leak, I'm pretty certain of the location of these.
I ended up ordering the kit today though.

I ended up replacing all my aluminum pipes with NOS. But it only turned out the few pipes in the engine bay drivers side had that pitting under the hoses. I had my NOS pipes powder coated before I installed them.

Gave it a bath, put Mother's Back-to-Black on the plastic parts, and went for a drive as well. What a beautiful car!
Then detailed the console, fixed the cross-wired cig. lighter, replaced drivers-side mirror glass and refreshed the spare.

Fuel Tank Closing Plate
Recently removed my fuel tank closing plate to discover rust under the epoxy resin. Decided to strip the epoxy and there were some serious rust thru holes.
A good friend cut out the centre piece and welded in a new piece of steel. (Thanks Martin!)
I zinc primed and then powder coated the entire plate. Looks pretty good.

Replaced side mirrors
I replaced my side mirrors with the convex mirrors I bought last month from forum member Rhye. Removal and replacement was very straight-forward; I used a heat gun for a quick removal of the originals. I took before-and-after pics, I think the difference is obvious. Haven't field-tested them yet but I'm sure they will make for a much better and safer driving experience.

11035 got a updated Alpine! The CDE-HD149BT is a badass unit with so many optional graphic equalization settings, wide range hall effe t sounf for front or rear speakers, Bluetooth phone connectivity, HD radio, Pandora and XM! So much to list with it! My best friend, brother and DeLorean owner Jeremy DeLaney of 10842 got it for me as a Christmas gift! Definitely gives me a wide variety of listening options since i do drive my car almost every day! Even where the antenna is it gets great XM reception!
