I finally finished my stereo upgrade!! Last thing today, was to complete the subwoofer install in the storage cubby. I built a whole new door out of thicker, quality hardwood, plywood. I then transferred original carpet/trim from a new door from DMC. All buttoned up, the install is totally stealth!

I made a post in my personal thread, but not here, so here it goes!

I have always had issues with my DeLorean being slow, unresponsive, and it gets bogged down going up hills and things. This is the first time I've done any kind of fiddling around with the power train, and I suspected that the Frequency Valve wasn't working. It was definitely NOT working when tested, and I was able to clean up the wiring to it and get it buzzing again. It's a night and day difference! Way more power, it doesn't bog down when going up small hills, it now revs past 2k RPM when under load. Still not a fast car, but much faster.

Today I also put in an order for all the stuff needed to replace the main +12v and ground lines from the battery and to the major components (starter, alternator, bulkhead, frame, etc), and I'll probably jump into installing that next weekend.

Is there anythg else that can be done to make the D a little more peppy? Not talking turbos or nitrous, lol

I'm of the opinion that getting all systems and features working as intended is the best approach to getting the peppiness back. Fuel system being the first, transmission a close second.

This can't be overstated. In my pre-turbo days I once regained 44hp on the dyno just getting the fuel correct. The car drove there and seemed to run well enough beforehand.

I tried to rent out my "magic 44hp" allen wrench but the Camaro/Mustang/Corvette guys weren't buying it.

Thanks, I like that idea! I once used a gas additive to my NA Benz Cls63 before and it really made a noticable difference. Forgot the name, but im assuming it was an octane booster.
