    Ontario DMC Dealers

Anyone know who had the DMC franchises in Ontario back in the '80s, particularly in the Oakville/Burlington area? I'm just curious.

There were no "factory official" Canadian dealers. Any cars we got were through Consolidated after the fact. Consolidated, of course, would sell to anybody whose check cleared, so you could see a new DeLorean on a used car lot near the end.

Kerr Cadillac (Oakville) had a number of cars, and there was a facility in Richmond Hill that I know of. They also dealt with Cobra replicas. I have a one-page auto show sheet advertising them (with or without paint!) in my archives, but am not at home right now.

As for Kerr, they have been approached on occasion regarding the part stock they have left. Apparently they're only interested in selling it all as one lot, and the parts aren't worth the asking price.

Hmmm, I work for and know the owners of what was Kerr. I'm gonna speak to them and see if they have ANY idea about the parts.....

They have only a small list of miscellaneous parts. Nothing of any note at all. I asked them a few years ago, and I got a list of what they have. It was bolt # whatever, and screw # whatever. Very insignificant parts. No drivers side fender or anything substantial. The list they sent me included the following:
    100634 BEZEL 2
    100440 LAMP 1
    108556 CLIP 1
    109128 ACT 1
    103245 BRG 1
    103885 GEAR 1
    105519 RET 1
    133188 KIT 2
    108514 NUT 1
    108555 LATCH 1
    101602 FILLER 1
    101977 CAP 1
    106389 RET 1
    106390 RET 1
    106944 COVER 1
    110103 CASE 1
    103643 SPACER 1
    103649 SPACER 1
    103651 SPACER 1
    103653 SPACER 1
    103659 SPACER 1
    103683 SPACER 1
    103685 SPACER 1
    103687 SPACER 1
    103655 SPACER 1
    103876 GEAR 1
    103886 GEAR 1
    105638 PULLEY 2
    108589 LEVER 1
    106268 SOCKET 2
In other words they have nothing of any real value. I got this list from Reg White at the dealership. I was so disappointed with the list that I didn’t even bother asking if he was selling parts separately or all in one go as Cory suggests. I never even bothered to see if the list jives with DMC's parts list to try to identify the parts.

Was it you that mentioned this, M? It was reaching urban legend status over the last few years, slightly different from each different source.

Now we'll find out that one or two of those parts are NLA, and a bidding war will ensure

Hmm, yeah that kind of sucks. I'm still going to try to get to the bottom of it.

I've spoken with to someone from there (when these parts were posted on kijiji), and just as Mike said, there wasn't much of value to an individual, but maybe to a vendor. When I asked to buy a few of the parts, I was told they were only interested in selling the entire lot as mentioned, so I was out.

Did the Dealership post them on Kijiji? I didn't know that anything had been posted there. I got my list directly from Kerr's. I wonder if it is the same list.....

    Hey Mike,

I think it was one of their parts guys who posted them - he faxed (yep, faxed) me a list quite some time ago, I went trough the whole thing checking the part numbers to see what they were. I guy I work with knew him from his time with GM, so the poster was almost certainly an employee over there.
