I have to ask - published in Belfast or the US?

I don't always drive cars, but when I do, I prefer DeLoreans

No-one is to stone anyone, even, and I want to make this absolutely clear, even if they do say "carburetor"

    Flight of the DeLorean

    Hi Dermot,

Published in England but available in the US and other countries. I sent tje manuscript to ten publishers including two in Northern Ireland - didn't get a reply from either of them. Haymes were really very professional and it's with them that I concluded the deal.

    regards and keep well

What a fascinating project! Bravo Mr. Sutton! I can't wait to place an order for your work. I think it's brilliant someone who spent so many years working towards one goal and then had to suffer for others mistakes can find the gumption to relive the whole experience so we can learn what it was like. You are a very noble man Mr. Sutton, thanks for undertaking this work. Ever since I heard some interviews with Mr. George Crane and read the "Job For Jesus" article in Car & Driver I have seen the car as much more than stainless steel panels and a reflection of John Z. It really is a testament to what people were suffering through in Northern Ireland at the time and what a dose of hope could mean to an entire country.

Thank you for the comments. Writing the book has been a difficult journey. Firstly to ensure it was historically accurate - which in itself is very difficult after so many years. Secondly, to portray scenario of Northern Ireland in the late 70's early 80s accurately.

The book won't be to everyone's taste but it’s my view from my historical hill. It’s maybe not what DeLorean enthusiasts are expecting to read.

Thanks again for the support - the book will be out in February.

I have spent the last two weeks checking and rechecking the data (and there's plenty of it).

    Thirty years ago next week

Reading the thread again reminded me that 30years ago next week Margaret Thatcher's cabinet reviewed the reconstruction plan offered by a UK Consortium. The plan was to restart production of the DMC12 in lower volumes together with the introduction of another car.

For reasons only known to Mrs Thatcher she vetoed the plan.
